A Labor of Love
I have always enjoyed needlework. Ever since I was a child in my grandmother’s
house, I played with her yarns and threads. Buttons were always a favorite. I
looked forward to seeing what “masterpieces” I could create with little bits and
scraps Grandma had left over from her projects.
Over time, this developed into a serious hobby. I learned
everything I could about needlework. As I got older, I found this was a way to
relax from a hectic day. As I continued to learn more techniques and gained
confidence, I started creating hand-made gifts for friends and family. They all
loved them.
People often asked if I could make gifts for them. I was
overjoyed! What a complement. Everyone was saying, “Why don’t you sell your
stuff?” I heard this for years, but didn’t think people would be interested. Was
I wrong. I have made custom quilts for some time now. Then I discovered machine
embroidery.
When my daughter was born, I started creating heirlooms for
her to cherish.
Through these labors of love, I have developed
DL Creations.
